I’ve been Crossfitting for 2 years now at CFMH and I can honestly say that my life has changed for the better physically and mentally. Two years ago I was unhappily married, stuck in a gym rut, and convinced that I was the best I could ever be. Luckily, for my 24th birthday, I decided to give the whole CrossFit thing a try. It was love at first WOD!! I remember I only did half of ‘Helen’ and was sore the next 2 weeks.. And LOVED it. Three days after I did my first WOD, I cancelled my globo gym membership and officially joined CFMH. A year later I did my first open and fell in love again with competing, something I hadn’t seen myself doing since swim team years before. Two years later I can’t see my life without CrossFit or my CrossFit family. Many of the people I have met have become my best friends (and roomies) and confidantes that have helped me through what were some of the more difficult times in my life. In addition to having a large and supportive CFMH family, I am able to do things now I couldn’t do when I was a member at a globo gym 2 years ago. Today I practice handstands, strict pull ups, and Olympic lifts when I used to be afraid or embarrassed to try things besides bench press. (However, my bench max has gone up over 20lbs) J For these reasons and more, I can’t imagine my life now without CrossFit; it’s the reason I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
